The ducties of the person engaged shall include the usual duties of the office in which he is engaged and any other suitable duties which the Government through the Resident Cang reer may call upon

He shall conform to the General or Standing Orders of the Government and to the regulations for the time being in force in his Department and to the Regulations for His Majesty's Colonial Service in so far as the same are applicable (1) Half, salary will be paid during the voyage out and home again upon the satisfactory ter- mination of the engagement. Full salary will begin from the date of arrival at the port of disembarkation in the Colony. In this Agreement the period of any voyage shall be reckoned as commencing on the day of embarkation and ending on the day previous to the day of disembarkation of the person engaged both days inclusive.
